Happy Wednesday!

We're up early today to pull gribs (weather files) and YB tracking data. So far, we've headed south, hoping to get into the trades near the coast despite it requiring that we sail extra miles. There's a big wind hole to the west through today, at least according to yesterday's data.

Last night, the wind came up and we were seeing 14-16 knots - WAY more than we have seen so far this race. It's a bit lighter again, and the wind has shifted around to the NW as forecast. We like the conditions matching the forecast. It makes us think we might be making the right choices, although we won't know that for sure for days and days yet!

I saw a ton of whales yesterday, some pretty close to the boat. We see the sun for hours occasionally, and saw the stars for a short bit last night. The stars are not just pretty - they make it a lot easier to steer the boat on a straight line.

Lori would like to add that the crescent moon is very lovely when it peaks through the clouds at night, as are the stars when you can see them. The bioluminescence is fun. So far, the autopilot is working as hoped, batteries are charging and staying charged - all systems currently working as they should.

We'll post more when we can.
<3 Cathy
