Good morning! We have requested outside assistance again this morning, as we have a bit of play at the top of the rudder post and have asked for guidance from a boat builder.
[ed. note: the boat builder told them it sounded like normal wear on the rudder post bearings, nothing to worry about. —bw]
And, a song, by Lori Tewksbury, sung to the tune of Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel
Hello starboard, my old friend…
We've come to sail on you again.
Because we have to go a bit west
Before we get to our beds and rest
And visions of mai tais on the beach
Is still in reach,
If we stay on starboard.
We may jibe to port, too
In many, many moons.
For now we must stay the course,
Avoid the wind hole left by Darby's force.
It is the fastest way to Kaneohe
And friends and leis
To stay… on starboard.
[ed. note: early signs of the sea madness I think 😀]
