Last minute prep and getting ready to go!!

We are in the final stretch and have been working non-stop the last few days getting ready to go!  Just about all of our gear is onboard.  We are taking 32 gallons of water (plus 2 gallons of emergency water) and managed to find space for all of it on the boat!  Food is loaded.  Our big first aid kit, ditch bag, and life raft are all onboard.  We vacuum sealed sails that we won't use right away to save space and they are now onboard.

What's left for today, the day before we leave?  We have to put antifouling polish on the bottom (because the boat is on a trailer, it doesn't have bottom paint and the bottom is very attractive to barnacles and other critters looking needing space to stick to) and put the boat in the water.  We have to load the last of our gear.  We need to put the dodger on (this goes over the hatch and will hopefully help to keep us dry).  We need to rig the boat and get it ready to sail tomorrow.  Finally, we are bringing the boat over to the Richmond Yacht Club tonight so that it is easy for Bob on Sea Star to tow us out to the start tomorrow.  (Our engine is sealed and stored under gear bags, between the anchor and the rear bulkhead of the boat - not easy to get to!!).

I'm off to do the last of my packing before we head down to the boat today.  Less than 24 hours to go....
